Eva Hartman and Poul F. Kjaer published a new special issue in Distinktion. Scandinavian Journal of Social Theory on the sociology of competition. The issue sets out a new framework for understanding the role of competition in the emergence of modern states and modern economies by emphasizing the use of competition by states and mutually supportive character of state development and economic transformations. The contributors are Eva Hartmann (CBS), Bob Jessop (Lancaster University), Poul F. Kjaer (CBS), Christiane Mossin (Copenhagen University), Ngai-Ling Sum (Lancaster University) Tobias Werron (University of Bonn).
On the 12th October 2017 Dzmitry Bartalevich successfully defended his PhD dissertation entitled “Do Economic Theories Inform Policy? Analysis of the Chicago School on European Union Competition Policy”.
